One thing most of us don’t think about is life after the birth of our child. We are so excited to hold our little bundle of joy, that we don’t think about many things, such as the aftermath (Mama’s you know what I mean), surviving breastfeeding or clothes best suited for breastfeeding (especially when you’re in public).

I am going to share clothes that I found worked well, and some additional comments that I may have on each garment. Also, stores that I would recommend shopping at for these items.

Out of all the nursing friendly tops that I have tried, my favorite to wear for breastfeeding is the 2 tank top method. A maternity thick strap tank on top of a skinny (noodle) strap tank. When I would feed my little one I would lift up the top tank just over my breast and pull down the underneath tank to underneath my nursing bra. I get the skinny strap tank from Walmart, that way I don’t stress if they get ruined because they are cheap. Then I just reused the maternity tanks that I wore when I was pregnant, thank you Target.

Breastfeeding Cross Top
Pro: Nice for breastfeeding
Con: Not wind friendly. I was walking home from work and a gust of wind blew open my shirt exposing my nursing bra underneath. So word of caution, if you wear this shirt, wear a matching bra.

Half T – Fashionable Top
Note: This top was difficult to breastfeed in. you have to lift the top half up and hold it to make sure your Little One is latched correctly. At least I did.

Pro: Doesn’t look like a nursing top

Love the price, not very flattering. At least on me. Pills easily.

Nursing Bra

Best Place to buy Nursing Bras – Motherhood Maternity.

No… they are not entirely flattering, but when it comes to finding a bra that fits you, it’s easier to do that in a store instead of guess online.

Motherhood Maternity. I use the bra’s I bought here the most out of all the nursing bra’s that I purchased. They do have cute maternity clothes, but not that many nursing clothes.

Favorite Bra – Motherhood Maternity – Seamless clip down nursing bra

This one I bought on Amazon. It comes up too high on my chest, and so I can’t wear if I’m planning to wear a low cut top
