I will find Peace this Christmas

Sharing is caring!

The holidays… they tend to bring out the best and the not so great things in our lives. Given the bad you’re dealing with or about to deal with, do you choose to take the high road? Do you choose to poke the bear… aggressively, bring the word slap because karma is a little behind on her list this holiday season?

You want to stand up for yourself. You want justice for yourself. Because let’s be honest, there are days you need to fight for you. Even when no one else will.

– BREATHE –

Let’s take a moment. Breathe…

Yes, you have feelings and you have every right to feel what you are currently feeling. I support your feelings. You’re probably hurt and potentially angry. Yes, there is a lot of stupid in the world. You don’t want those negative vibes, especially around the holidays. I get it. I understand it. I connect with it. I’m right there with you.

– BUT –

Do we need to respond? We want to avoid the negative vibes. That is our end goal, correct? How can we avoid the negative but still respect ourselves and our feelings?

Tonight I ask myself this. I see the negative loop that I am presented with. I am overwhelmed with negativity, and sass and I want to lash out. Then I thought, “It’s Christmas. Let it go. Seriously, eat some Friggen Christmas cookies and let that sh*t go. Do not go Bad Moms on me right now.”

Yeah… thinking it and saying it didn’t help worth a sh….crap. Go figure right? Haha. No one wants to be on Santa’s naughty list. At least I can tell him that I tried.

I took a few deep breaths. Then I walked into my son’s room where he was sleeping and just watched him for a minute. So peaceful, and with all the negativity clouding my mind I thought, “I will find peace”.

So when I laid back down in bed, I took out my phone and I made a list.

  • I made a list of all the reasons I will find peace.
  • I wrote down on the positives in my life.
  • I wrote down all the reasons why I want to be better.
  • I wrote down everything I love about this life that I have.

Here it is.

I will find peace because I am a good person

I will find peace because no matter what I try to do the right thing

I will find peace for myself

I will find peace because I love my son

I will find peace because I love my husband

I will find peace because I am thankful and happy my sister-in-law is living with us.

I will find peace because I work hard

I will find peace because I am an honest person

I will find peace because I love my mom and dad

I will find peace because I love my family

I will find peace because I am grateful for all the good people I have in my life

I will find peace because I am loved

I will find peace because of my best friend

I will find peace because I have all of my needs met (roof over my head, clothes, food, a bed, a functioning indoor toilet, and a loving family)

I will find peace because life is worth so much more than this negative influence

I will find peace because this is only a moment, not my lifetime

I will find peace because I am thankful for my job

I will find peace because of the amazing co-workers I get to work with every day

I will find peace because I am lucky enough to have an amazing boss who believes in me, supports me & trusts me.

I will find peace so I can lead by example

I will find peace because I am not alone.

I will find peace because I believe in something bigger than myself.

I will find peace because I am strong.

– I WILL FIND PEACE –

My list is based on my current situation. I hope this inspires you and helps bring you peace this holiday season.

You are worth it, you are loved and you are not alone.

What brings you peace, and that sense of calm? What positives can you see in your life?
